I was listening to the Baltimore show and became a bit stranged when I heard the lyrics to Truckin'. I thought Sweet Jane was livin' her life on vitamin C and cocaine. But what I heard was Sweet Jane had a sex change. Am I hearing things, or have the Truckin' lyrics always been rehashed and changed through out the years?

Case in point: "All a friend can say is it's a fuckin' shame." The only song I'm aware of in which Hunter actually used an F word was Wharf Rat.

Yes(on Wharfrat), and he only used "fucker" because that's the way the character would have spoken. Agreed?

Yeah, he was a human. Like most of us. Except I hope that most of us haven't been hit as hard by life as old August West was. He did have a true love, though. In fact, I know she's been, I'm sure she's been true to him.

I don't remember the exact date (it was the 80's in Atlanta), but one of the funniest is when he flubs the whole line & sings "livin' on reds, reds & all kinds of shit...."

Yeah, I've heard the other lyrics half a dozen times or so. Always catches me by surprise.

In the early 80's Bobby used a couple of different lyrics, including "ever since she went and had a sex change" and "took all that dope and had her head re-arranged".

I just watched a neo vampire/werewolf movie last night called, "Underworld Evolution," and I have to say that after looking at the peg you attached, Bobby looks like he's transforming from man to wolf. Thanks.

I think too that sometimes they weren't "truckin" up to to Buffalo but they said another word that rhymes with it.

You guys are much better at this stuff than I am, especially STRAT, but I think they did use another word there sometimes.
